Our multicultural team, located in Brussels (Ixelles), is dedicated to inventing, baking, and tasting new types of biscuits while continuously improving existing products. About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team. As an R&D Technician / Pastry Chef in our laboratory, you play a crucial role in the development of new biscuits and improvement of existing products. You focus on different internal requirements, e.g. the market, sensorial, qualitative, technological needs, etc. You collaborate with other R&D technicians / pastry chefs and you report to a Lab manager.
This job combines a hands-on pastry job with product innovation and development. This means that you brainstorm with colleagues and the marketing department about new ideas and about improvements. Then, you create samples of these food products (mostly biscuits). You ensure precise recipe instructions. You are involved in tasting and you record and analyze data. You investigate and test new equipment to reach the best results. Finally you present your results to colleagues.
You may be required to visit the factories in Belgium, France, Denmark and potentially other countries, depending on your projects. Therefore a driving license and visa are required.
The job involves communication with a lot of internal stakeholders in different countries, like the marketing team, the product development team, the quality team, … Therefore a good understanding of English is a must.
Who we are looking for
- Degree in Pastry and Baking or a related field. Fresh graduates and experience pastry chefs are welcome!
- Driving license and visa.
- Creativity and adaptability.
- Proficient in leveraging new technologies and ingredients to create unique flavors.
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for exploring new ideas.
- Experience in producing new or refining existing food samples (at work or at home!)
- Willingness to work with semi-industrial machinery in a laboratory environment for product creations.
- Multicultural sensitivity and appreciation.
- Strong team spirit and collaboration mindset.
- Proficiency in English (company's business language) and French.
