About the Role

As a Food Safety Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring that Kelsen complies with legal regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements. A key part of your responsibilities will be to ensure our quality control system remains up to date—an essential element in our commitment to delivering the highest quality products to our customers and consumers.

You will be a central member of the Quality Department in Nørre Snede, supporting the Quality Site Lead in the daily management of our HACCP system. This includes contributing to system improvements and implementing corrective actions.

Main Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities and tasks, based on the RASCI model (Responsible, Accountable, Supportive, Consulted, and Informed), include:

Quality – Food Safety – Hygiene

  • Analyze and continuously monitor the HACCP system and risk assessments, gathering feedback from incidents and facilitating HACCP/Quality reviews.
  • Manage field incidents in collaboration with operational teams, conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain ISO-related documentation and actively participate in audits, supporting continuous improvement and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Conduct studies and spot checks to monitor the quality and safety of packaging and ingredients (e.g., for allergens), identifying potential food safety issues.
  • Assist in drafting and verifying production traceability and food safety procedures to ensure compliance with BRCGS standards and specific customer requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations across the team and production areas.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, quality, environmental, energy, and food safety standards, including proper waste sorting protocols.

New Product Development and Improvement:

  • Integrate food safety considerations into all new and modified products and equipment by participating in validation processes and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Workshop Manager to ensure all mandatory equipment data—such as calibration and verification records—are accurate and accessible.
  • Contribute proactively to improving HACCP performance by applying management tools and working closely with the Lean team.

Who we're looking for

  • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, food safety standards, and production processes.
  • A structured and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to follow up on improvement initiatives and adapt quickly to changing plans.
