Main Responsibilities:
Our Product Developers are responsible for the early-stage development of concepts through to the handover to the Industrialisation team.
• Development, production and delivery of recipes, paperwork and samples to exceptional and consistent standards.
• Fully hands on role developing new products in a Test Bakery environment.
• Ensure on a day-to-day basis the smooth running of the Test Bakery facility with regards to raw materials and equipment
• Work within the Test Bakery team to drive development of existing and new raw materials and support the Industrialisation team in their implementation.
• Being part of a passionate team of Product Developers and Bakers all working towards making the best products possible.
• Maintain product workbooks to track and trace developments for all samples.
Key Ingredients for the Role:
• Bakery / Pastry trained experience essential
• Passion for creativity and innovation
• Working knowledge of Bakery raw materials
• Experience in a commercial Bakery environment
• Ability to deliver consistent, high-quality samples and concepts
• Works well under pressure / under time constraints
• A Foodie at heart – a sweet tooth essential!
• Keen interest in newness in the sweet goods category
• Willingness to commute to different site as and when required
• Inquisitive, continuous improvement mindset
• Proven track record in maintaining good working relationships
• Strong analytical skills
• Good IT skills
• Self-starter, self-motivating good understanding/ appreciation of the broader business
• Proven track record of delivering multiple complex projects
• Great communicator
• Willingness to work outside of core hours and away from Batley site as and when required
