About the Role
Join our engineering team as a Systems Control Engineer where you will ensure the smooth operation of our plant and machinery. You'll manage system backups, address obsolescence risks, and develop electrician systems. Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager, support repairs, and respond to breakdowns to ensure equipment availability. Your expertise will drive our operational excellence and compliance.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure up-to-date backups for systems and PLC programs.
- Manage and plan for obsolescence risks.
- Develop electrician systems and controls.
- Support repairs and address inefficiencies in plant and machinery.
- Record control faults and follow-up actions.
- Adhere to company standards, hygiene, and safety rules.
- Assist Maintenance Manager for compliance and plant efficiency.
- Respond to control-related breakdowns and provide support outside normal working hours.
Key ingredients for the role:
- Qualified in electrical/electronic engineering (HNC/TEC level or equivalent).
- Proven experience in process/manufacturing or similar engineering industry.
- Knowledge of I.E.E electrical wiring regulations and Electricity at Work Regulations.
- Experience with single and three-phase distribution and control systems.
- Ability to read electrical circuit diagrams and use test equipment.
- Knowledge of PLC controlled systems and variable speed drives.
- Experience with process control systems (open and closed loop).
- Experience with electrical installation work (cable tray/trunking, conduits, SWA, pyro).
- Knowledge of thyristor control, integrated circuits, and basic electronic control circuits.
- Experience with instrumentation systems.
- Experience with process temperature and flow control systems.
